Dear Administrator Regan and Secretary Raimondo:We, the undersigned, urgently request that you safeguard America's farmland from the destructive impact of industrial solar projects. We ask you to end the granting of federal tax credits that enable these inefficient projects to wreak havoc on our rural landscapes, property values, and wildlife habitats.Here is why we must take action:1. INEFFICIENCY AND MISUSE OF FARMLAND: Industrial solar farms are an inefficient use of our precious farmland. We must protect our agricultural resources for food production and sustainable land use practices instead of giving them up for less effective energy generation. Let's prioritize smarter and more efficient energy sources that provide reliable, affordable electricity without sacrificing our farmland.2. DESTRUCTION OF RURAL LANDSCAPES: The building of industrial solar projects isn't just altering America's rural landscapes; it's erasing the charm and beauty that define our agricultural communities. It's time to preserve these our landscapes for current and future generations.3. LOWERED PROPERTY VALUES: The presence of industrial solar projects been proven to lower surrounding property values. As homeowners, farmers, and landowners, we deserve to protect our investments and not suffer economic losses due to the negative impact of these projects.4. WILDLIFE HABITAT DISRUPTION: Our farmland plays a vital role in supporting diverse ecosystems and providing habitats for wildlife. The intrusion of industrial solar projects jeopardizes the delicate balance of nature, disrupting these habitats and endangering the myriad species that call them home.Additional negative consequences of federal tax credits for industrial solar projects include:1. ENRICHING FOREIGN MANUFACTURERS: The majority of solar panels are manufactured in communist China. By granting federal tax credits for industrial solar projects, we inadvertently bolster their economy, putting American taxpayers at a disadvantage. It's time to support our own local industries, farmers, and communities instead.2. EXPLOITING AMERICAN TAXPAYERS: The current system places the financial burden on American taxpayers, as they subsidize the profits of solar developers through these tax credits. It's time to demand that our tax dollars be invested in responsible, efficient, and reliable energy projects that benefit America’s own economy and communities.
